The 505
Each Sunday night at 5:05 p.m. we gather for worship in many forms. Each week you will find song, word, and table in some way through our gathering, and yet each week we strive to worship in new and creative ways. Whether it is the 1st Sunday of the month with a more traditional service or the 4th Sunday through Dinner Church, each week we create space for our community to experience the love of God and the work of the Holy Spirit.
Riverfront is an inclusive ecumenical space with roots in the Presbyterian Church (USA) and the United Methodist traditions. Many within our community are seeking a place to explore their faith while healing from past hurts within the church. We seek to be a place where all are welcome and questions are celebrated.
Where to find us?
Hare Pavilion: 110 West St., Wilmington DE 19801
Our first home and place for 505 Worship from Easter until end of October. You can park in Dockland's Restaurant parking (we have permission to ignore the no parking signs) and then walk just a few steps to the Pavilion on the Riverfront. We love nothing more than a Sunday night on the water!
Rain Location:
Grace Cafe: 900 N Washington St., Wilm DE 19801
This is our space for 505 Worship from November until Easter, and anytime weather is bad to be outside. You can park in the Grace Church parking lot and enter through the main entrance off Washington St. Once you arrive you will see us in the Cafe & Art Gallery Space where we meet each week through the winter. This is also where you will find the first location of the Wilmington Kitchen Collective and our staff's offices.
What's Happening Sundays at 505?
Statement of beliefs:
We believe our Creator calls us to creative worship that communicates to people here and now, engaging all of the senses and speaking into human experience.
We believe Jesus welcomes and celebrates all as part of the sacred community. We believe we encounter the Risen Christ in our neighbors and strangers at the margins of faith and society.
We welcome all people into the life of this community, and celebrate and give thanks for our diversity of race, ethnicity, citizenship, gender, sexual orientation, age, physical and mental ability, faith background, economic status, appearance, marital condition, political persuasion, education, and life experience.
We believe our Sustainer, the Spirit, nourishes our souls with the Word, and sends us out to serve.
We believe the Church is wherever two or three are gathered by the Spirit in God's Name. For us the Church is at the Riverfront Pavilion, in various restaurants throughout the city, in the Kitchen Collective and Cafe at Grace Church, and anywhere the community gathers.
We commit to imaginative collaboration in serving God’s people with bold love, open to questions and exploration, as Christ has served the church.
